Background Noise | Antwerp | 2018

Soundsculpture - Microphones - Electromagnatic Signal - Analoge to Digital - Human Perception Variable Dimensions

The installation is creating a connection and dialogue between the microphones and the material, between the analogue and the digital world, between all the background noise around us and our perception. The microphones are translating the electromagnetic signals into sound with a chaotic atmosphere as a result. It looks for the limits within our perception, looking for what we automatically block.

Background Noise is a work in the ongoing series of combinations between materials, environments, people and the sound of it after it was exhibited at the exhibition 'freedom explained logically' at the SInt Laurentius Site, Antwerp, 2018.
